Last fall I made a proposition with my dad. I got him a new bicycle and asked if, in exchange, I could try my hand at restoring his old Honda trail bike. He said I could, as it had been sitting under an army surplus tarp on the side of the house for years. The bike was in pretty rough shape. It had been painted a handful of times and was used primarily as it was intended; hunting, hauling, and steep Rocky Mountain climbing excursions. When I got my hands on it I didn't really have to do much to get it started. These little Honda bikes are notoriously reliable. Postal workers in Australia still use these today to deliver mail all over the country. My little "postie bike" needed only a new battery and spark plug to bring the little puttering motor back to life.
