CB750

Time to tinker on cb while the weather is still nice. Been working on the electrical issues, which makes my headache even worse. Today I kicked it over and drained the bad fuel out of the carbs.  I'm sure it's annoying the hell out of my neighbors.

How it looked when Mike and Jesse dropped it off the other day. Thanks to Mike, the thing runs strong. He knows his way around these old engines. The plan is to strip all the unnecessary shit off it, getting it as bare as possible.

Still trying to figure out what to do with this bulbous rear fender.

Practice near the tracks

Getting out of the city always seems to give a new perspective. This place always does the trick.

Reloads

A few weeks ago I geeked out with my friend Jon and we reloaded rifle ammunition. It is an old pastime our dads spent cold winter evenings perfecting in their basements. It gives us a good laugh thinking about how nerdy it really is. You get in the zone focusing on sizing brass and measuring powder, and pretty soon you stop talking and just focus on all the little details.

Philly

Pete's nicely worn 501s and the belt I made for him. Getting crafty on my bachelor party gift. Stamped his initials right into that bad boy. Keep being rad out there in Philly my man.

Sheds

Sometimes you have to sit still and glass, while other times you trip across them. Either way, hunting sheds is a good time. Treasure hunting for us hunting types.

Mark Twain Caves Ahead

The middle of this country offered me my first land crossing of the Mississippi River. Pretty wide. Once on the opposite side of the bridge I encountered many signs proclaiming the significance of Mark Twain. Oh Missouri. However, the best thing I know from this state, primarily Kansas City ...

is Cute Kerry.

In the mail

The decals I ordered for the little trail bike were in the mailbox when I came home the other day. I am doing my best to bring the bike back to the way it would've looked in 1983. One year before I made it to this planet.

Middle America

A few weeks back I ventured into the midwest. I have never visited the 'heartland' before, and because my parents now live there, I thought I would see what it's about. All I really knew about this part of the country was that beer, football, and some really good bands hail from this region. It was definitely a good time.

CT110'83

Last fall I made a proposition with my dad. I got him a new bicycle and asked if, in exchange, I could try my hand at restoring his old Honda trail bike. He said I could, as it had been sitting under an army surplus tarp on the side of the house for years. The bike was in pretty rough shape. It had been painted a handful of times and was used primarily as it was intended; hunting, hauling, and steep Rocky Mountain climbing excursions. When I got my hands on it I didn't really have to do much to get it started. These little Honda bikes are notoriously reliable. Postal workers in Australia still use these today to deliver mail all over the country. My little "postie bike" needed only a new battery and spark plug to bring the little puttering motor back to life.

Missoula bound

I took a solo road trip up to Missoula this last week to see the town. Never been there before and I quite liked what I saw. There were plenty of good places to grab a beer and scope the strangeness.

View from the 'M' on the hill. This town has some hard school pride

Heading South towards Sun Valley..

Stopped to practice with the ole' .45 six-gun

Back on the road to catch the sun coming up. Montana and Idaho shine this time of year
